HIKING/BIKING We are only 7 miles from the Appalachian Trail and we can arrange shuttles with advanced reservations. There are many great marked hiking trails in the nearby area, for the beginner as well as the advanced day hiker. Beautiful scenery abounds wherever you go, many hikes having 360 degree views at the top! We have books here for you to use listing hikes, directions, difficulty levels, etc. Biking is a great way to enjoy the Maine scenery as well! There are many trails in the area, although the most popular one is the old railroad bed which runs along the Kennebec River from Bingham to Solon. It is almost a 10 mile stretch of maintained trail, where you may see wildlife along the famous river.
